Kelly Honig - A Different Kind of Democrat

Kelly Honig is a Westlake Village City Councilwoman and two-time mayor, attorney, former college educator and mother who has dedicated her career to serving her community. She is focused on helping families by working to bring down the cost of housing and groceries and supporting small businesses by putting practical solutions ahead of partisan politics. In the state assembly, Kelly will prioritize safe neighborhoods by investing in public safety, natural disaster preparedness and emergency response services and improve healthcare, public schools and infrastructure to protect our water supply. She is endorsed by first responders, grassroots Democrats, and local elected leaders.

  • As a mayor and local city councilwoman, Kelly Honig has fought to provide local first responders with the resources they need to protect lives and homes. In the State Assembly, she will work to increase funding to hire more firefighters, secure planes and helicopters for water drops, invest in new fire engines, technology and equipment; and expand brush clearing and natural disaster preparedness programs. With wildfires threatening our community, Kelly is committed to protecting the rights of homeowners against insurance companies that raise premiums, delay and deny claims and drop coverage.

  • Kelly Honig believes doctors, scientists and medical professionals should make decisions about healthcare and public health, not politicians and insurance company executives. She will work to create a healthcare system that is accessible and affordable, and where patients get care when and where they need it. In Sacramento, she will fight back against health care cuts from the federal government, support local hospitals and community health clinics and ensure medical decisions are made by doctors, not corporations.

  • Kelly Honig knows the Democratic Party needs new, bolder leadership to stand up to Donald Trump and deliver results and real change for working families. In the State Assembly, Kelly will fight to lower the cost of living, make housing more affordable for working families, keep local neighborhoods safe, and defend California from Trump’s attacks on our rights, our economy, and our democracy.

  • Kelly Honig believes we must address the high cost of living by supporting small businesses and ensuring workers are paid fair wages. She is committed to rebuilding the middle class by supporting California-based industries, including local film and television production, renewable energy and investing in our universities to create more homegrown good-paying jobs.

  • Kelly Honig has always made public safety her top priority by increasing investments in local law enforcement to combat crime and keep local neighborhoods safe. Our local police officers, sheriff’s deputies and law enforcement leaders support Kelly for State Assembly because they have worked closely with her and know she is committed to protecting our neighborhoods.
