MEET

Kelly

Kelly Honig has dedicated her career to serving her community — working to create safe neighborhoods, strengthen our local economy, and put practical solutions ahead of partisan political agendas. Now, Kelly is running for State Assembly to bring that same commitment and leadership to Sacramento.

Kelly was first elected to the Westlake Village City Council in 2015, serving as mayor in 2020 during the first year of the pandemic. She is now in her third term on the council and second term as mayor.

Kelly also has extensive experience in regional government and has worked on the Las Virgenes/Malibu Council of Governments since 2019, strengthening and building alliances within our region. She was a member of the Cal Cities Transportation, Communications and Public Works Policy committee for three years, and currently is an alternate member of the California JPIA Liability Trust Fund and Oversight Committee, working with other cities throughout Southern California.

Kelly is an attorney by training and received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and International Relations from the University of California, Davis.
Kelly spent 13 years practicing law and then transitioned to a teaching career, teaching Business Law and Criminal Law at Oxnard College. Expanding her career in education, Kelly also served as the Development Director for a school in Thousand Oaks.
For over twenty years, Kelly has given back to her community by serving on several boards and with various organizations. From volunteering with the local public elementary school parent faculty club board to serving as a director for youth baseball, she has ensured that our children receive the resources they need to thrive. As a board member of the Conejo Valley Future Foundation and on the City of Westlake Village’s Cultural Recreation Advisory Board, Kelly helped develop projects to make life better for all residents throughout the region. Kelly is currently an active board member of the Rotary Club of Westlake Village and serves on the board of Art Trek, Inc., a Ventura County community arts organization.
Kelly and her husband Keith have spent almost 35 years in the Conejo Valley. They raised their two children here, and along with their rescue dachshund Molly, are grateful to call our region home. Now, Kelly is ready to take her experience and passion to the State Assembly in Sacramento to fight for you.
