LA POLICE UNION BACKS KELLY HONIG

Los Angeles Police Protective League Representing 9,000 LAPD Officers Backs Honig, Signaling Momentum Swing in AD-42 Race

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA — In a major development that underscores her growing momentum, Westlake Village Mayor Kelly Honig announced today that she has earned the endorsement of the Los Angeles Police Protective League (LAPPL) in her campaign for the 42nd Assembly District.

Representing more than 9,000 officers of the Los Angeles Police Department, LAPPL is one of the most influential law enforcement organizations in California. Their support reflects confidence in Honig’s proven record on public safety.

LAPPL President Craig Lally released the following statement announcing their endorsement:

“Mayor Kelly Honig is the best choice for public safety. That’s why the Los Angeles Police Protective League is proud to endorse Kelly Honig for State Assembly District 42. We know Kelly Honig will be a strong partner with law enforcement in the legislature, working with us to increase investment in public safety to improve neighborhood security and keep local communities safe. She has our strong support.”

During her 10 years on the Westlake Village City Council, Honig has consistently prioritized law enforcement, supporting every budget increase for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to ensure the highest level of safety for residents. She also championed the hiring of a full-time public safety officer to assist LASD and strengthen community safety communication and education in Westlake Village. Beyond local efforts, Honig supports common-sense policies to improve public safety statewide, such as Proposition 36 in the last election, which increases penalties for certain drug and theft crimes to hold repeat offenders accountable.
